About me

My name is Kerry and I’m qualified in vinyasa flow and yin yoga.

I have been teaching for over five years and practising yoga for nearly three decades with some wonderful teachers. I currently teach: vinyasa, slow flow, yin, chair yoga and beach yoga . During the summer months I run soundbaths on the beach. Throughout the year I offer regular soundbaths and yoga nidra with an array of instruments including gong and crystal singing bowls.

My yoga retreat days, as well as my classes, embody the whole spirit of yoga, asana/posture flows, including breathwork, guided meditation, yoga mudra and sometimes creative visualisations. My classes are themed: often inspired by the seasons, peak poses, and yoga philosophy.

My classes are creative and carefully planned, moving through sequences of postures that flow using alignment and breath. My students are supported with the offer of hands-on assists, blocks (if needed) and clear instructions. In addition, challenges are offered and encouraged.

Yoga is a beautiful journey and a way of life. Physically, through the practice of yoga, we become stronger, more flexible, freer and open in the body, but the magic truly happens when these qualities take place in the mind. We learn to be more aware of ourselves, connect better with those around us and to be more present in our daily life, to use our senses more and how to quiet the mind’s incessant inner dialogue.

With consistent practice, shifting from stress mode to ‘rest, digest and repair’ mode becomes easier and quicker, enabling us to manage our stress and anxiety levels and find increasing moments of peace and calm.

What I offer at The Tree Room

This one hour vinyasa class is a creative and energising flow of postures moving your body with the breath leaving you feeling rejuvenated, refreshed in body, mind and soul. These classes are themed, often incorporating yoga philosophy, breath control techniques and short meditations which are guided. I welcome all abilities.

My own practice includes rocket yoga, yin yoga and restorative yoga, either at home or attending classes and workshops.
